The Steinbach Pistons of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League have signed Canadian Sport School Hockey League student athlete Matt Thiessen.
Thiessen, 17, started 18 games with the Rink Hockey Academy Midget Prep team during the 2016-17 season, posting a record of 12-6-0 with a 2.93 goals-against average and a .917 save-percentage, along with one shutout.
The Altona, Man. product also registered a 2-0-0 record during the post-season, along with a 2.50 goals-against average and a .919 save-percentage.
Thiessen made his MJHL debut on March 1 of last season, stopping 27-of-30 shots between the pipes for the Pistons in a 3-1 loss to Neepawa.
