May 28th, 2024, which was a few days prior to the 2024 MJHL Draft, four RINK Hockey Academy student-athletes were auto-protected by four different MJHL franchises. To clarify how the auto-protection works, it is as if the player gets drafted, but instead of going through the draft like everyone else, teams have the option to exchange their 7th and 8th round picks in exchange for two players in or from their designated region. On June 2nd, 15 RHA student-athletes heard their names called at the MJHL Draft.
